Q: Which is the right mouthpiece for me?
A: This is a difficult question. It is very hard to make a recommendation since the sound you desire is unique to you. Mouthpieces do have inherent tonal characteristics but suffice to say that what you hear, the tones you produce, are distinctively yours. Perhaps listen to artists that you like and use their setup as a foundation for the type of mouthpiece to choose.
Q: What is the difference between the cafe resin and the hard rubber composite?
A: They're both great - it's really a matter of personal choice. Our hard rubber composite material is a proprietary blend containing a high concentration of the finest hard rubber and our traditional cafe resin. From the feedback we've received from players at our NYC event, the hard rubber composite material dampens some of the high partials in the sound - much like traditional hard rubber mouthpieces. That said, around 70% of the players who tried both mouthpieces preferred the H/R composite - however, many also like the resin. Regardless of materials, everyone said all the pieces they tried were great and would be happy with either. So which is "better"? Well, that's still really subjective.
NOTE: Hard Rubber Composite mouthpieces are marked with an "R" indicating "Rubber".
NOTE: Resin has been discontinued (3/6/2011)
Q: Do you have any mouthpieces "in stock"?
A: All of our mouthpieces are made when they are ordered so we do not have *in stock* inventory
Q: Do you make custom sizes?
A: We are not offering custom sizes at this time.
